As the float dips

The rod is lifted into action

A never ending bend

Followed by quiver and tension

The fish runs deep

In the early morning mist

You’re alone on the bank

As the fish turns and twists

With a pounding heart

Full of joy and excitement

Your prize lunges one last time

Crack, Oh no, more disappointment
